Charles E. Curtis of Worcester and Kennebunk, Maine, the former
owner of Fred. R. Smith Insurance Agency in Haverhill, died of
complications from cancer Sunday in the Medical Center of Central
Massachusetts in Worcester. He was 78.
Born in Haverhill, Mr. Curtis graduated from Haverhill High
School and attended Boston University. He moved to Worcester five
years ago.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, and was the
president and owner of the Fred R. Smith Insurance Agency for 45
