Alvina Reckman Myers, 93, a lawyer, benefactor and faculty fellow
of American University's Washington College of Law, died of
respiratory failure April 13 at Sibley Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Myers was the widow of John Sherman Myers, the dean of the
law school who died in 1969.
In 1964, she was appointed a faculty fellow of the law school, an
honorific title, and she helped to establish the Law Wives' Club. The
law library, first-year moot competition and faculty lounge are named
after her. She had been president and treasurer of Beta chapter of
the women's legal organization, Phi Delta Delta.
Mrs. Myers, a resident of Washington, was born in Cincinnati.
