Boston Baroque's all-Bach program Saturday night was a generally pleasing affair that in certain moments rose to great heights. At other points, it fell beneath the standards that Boston Baroque has long set for itself and others.

The band had the spotlight at the beginning: The concert opened with the Fourth Orchestral Suite. This had lots of spirit and ceremony, a nice feeling for dance rhythms, some well-disciplined string playing and some pretty raunchy intonation.
