More than a quarter of the school superintendents in the West
Weekly circulation area are leaving their posts this year, a regional
reflection of the high turnover statewide in local education
leadership jobs.
Among 29 school districts in the area, superintendents in
Waltham, Natick, Medfield, Millis, Needham and the Assabet Valley
vocational school in Marlborough are retiring this year. The Sudbury
superintendent is leaving the district, as is Wellesley
Superintendent of Schools Karla DeLetis.
Since January, 35 of the state's 275 school superintendents
have announced their resignations, according to the Massachusetts
