Orin Ensign Skinner of Newton, a stained glass artisan in the
medieval tradition who practiced his craft for 65 years, died Tuesday
in his home in Newton. He was 102.
Mr. Skinner was the former president of the guild at the famed
Connick Studio on Harcourt Street in Boston, which designed and
constructed more than 15,000 stained glass windows for nearly 5,000
churches, libraries and schools, including the American Church in
Paris, France, St. Patrick's Cathedral and the Cathedral of St. John
the Divine, both in New York City, and Marsh Chapel at Boston
University.
