Gerard Corbiau's "Farinelli" is a gorgeous disappointment. If it had merely adequate scripting to go along with its fabulous visuals and arresting soundtrack, it would have been one of the best movies of the year -- and the first to avoid turning ludicrous in depicting a classical music star.
