Good morning! . . . And congratulations to eighth-grade baseball
player Michael Barletta of Hanover. He will represent New England at
the National AAU/USA Junior Olympic Championships in Cocoa Beach,
Fla., Aug. 3-12. He has been named to the New England Mariners
14-and-under team. Last year he pitched for the Mariners
13-and-under team, which advanced to the gold medal round of the
national tournament in Des Moines. He won key games, pitching
against California and Illinois, earning the team's Golden Arm Award.
He attends St. Sebastian's School. . . . Steve Howard of Norwood
pitched a complete game 5-4 victory for the University of
Massachusetts-Boston against Framingham State. Howard ...
