Article: Disabled list has become more of a sore spot

The 1995 Red Sox are leading the major leagues in at least one critical category: injured players.

Roger Clemens, Jose Canseco, Mark Whiten, Lee Tinsley and Vaughn Eshelman are on the disabled list now, and four other Sox were there earlier this season. That's two more than Milwaukee, the next-most-hobbled AL team, and one more than the three National League leaders.

While it's not surprising to see players pulling up lame in a late-starting season for which spring training was cut in half, it is alarming to see how many more are turning up disabled now compared with just a decade ago.
