Article: 2 Ebola Cases Feared in Zaire Capital

Two suspected cases of infection with the incurable Ebola virus were reported in Kinshasa today, raising fears that people are spreading the disease beyond a provincial city where international health officials are attempting to contain an outbreak.

Medical officials said the two potential cases, involving a riverboat captain and a nun, do not necessarily indicate that the disease is spreading out of control. But the officials were concerned about the possible presence of Ebola in this capital of 5 million residents and of poorly equipped hospitals.
