Article: Kirchner decides: No Sanders, no summer for Harvard Chamber Orchestra

For more than 25 years the free summer concerts by the Harvard Chamber Orchestra and Friends -- under the direction of composer-conductor Leon Kirchner -- have been highlights of the musical year.

There has been no announcement of plans for this summer, and music-lovers have been calling to ask what's going on. A call to Kirchner produced an explanation.

"There won't be any concerts this summer," Kirchner said. "I was told that Sanders Theatre wouldn't be available again this summer because of renovations.
