Henry A. Dudley, 82, a retired lawyer who specialized in trusts,
estates and government contracts, died of a lung ailment April 16 at
Sibley Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Dudley was a founder of the law firm of McNutt, Dudley,
Easterwood and Losch, from which he retired in the late 1970s. Until
the late 1980s, he was senior counsel to the firm of Glassie, Pewitt,
Dudley, Beebe and Shanks. Among his clients was Post cereals heiress
Marjorie Merriweather Post.
Mr. Dudley was born in Altavista, Va. He was a graduate of Roanoke
College and the University of Virginia law school. He was in private
practice in Roanoke before World War II and served in the Navy in the
Mediterranean during the war.
