H. James Curtis of Braintree, owner of Eastern Packaging Inc. of
Lawrence, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday. He was 55.
Born in Quincy, he later moved to Braintree. He graduated from
Thayer Academy in Braintree and attended the University of
Massachusetts at Lowell. He also served in the US Coast Guard.
Mr. Curtis started working at Eastern, which was founded by his
father, when he was 9 years old. The firm, formerly based in Boston
and called Eastern Cellophane Co., manufactures plastic bags used to
wrap food, candy, ...
