Article: Harlow back but still practicing pessimism

FOXBOROUGH -- Pat Harlow is tired of limping, tired of sitting, tired of not playing football. Not that any of that is likely to change this week.

Harlow returned to practice yesterday for the first time in nearly two months. But the ankle he fractured at the end of training camp remains sore and he seemed less than convinced that he would finally appear in his first game this season Monday night when the Patriots host the Buffalo Bills.

"There's a chance," Harlow said, "but it's not highly likely. It still hurts. Quite a few things were wrong in there. One thing they didn't pick up {during an arthroscopic procedure to remove bone chips}."

What team doctors didn't pick up was a stress ...
