Contrary to this week's report from Harvard that vigorous exercise
can add years to your life, my recommendation is that you just sit
still.
As you know, I have tried exercising vigorously at a gym for a
couple of months now, and I had progressed to the point where I
remembered the combination to my locker. It was going all right until
last week when I got on one of those torture machines where you place
your head in an ox yoke and push 200 pounds up in the air with your
shoulders like a Danish milkmaid, and I hurt my neck -- nothing
serious, just sharp, screaming-like-Joan-Crawford pain every time I
moved even slightly. I'd have been fine if I just could have spent
the rest of my life ...
