Angels were the trendy problem-solvers a year ago. Now dreams,
those vivid but mysterious pictorial messages of the mind that
Sigmund Freud called "the royal road to the unconscious," seem to be
taking up the challenge.
Americans in great numbers are turning to the imagery and symbols
of dreams to cope with the problems of cold, gray reality. Dream
circles -- groups of people who meet regularly to discuss the
significance of each other's dreams -- are proliferating and there
are hundreds of dream-sharing sites on the Internet. Schools of
business administration, such as Stanford, offer courses in the use
