Sometimes, if you close your eyes while listening to the political rhetoric here, it sounds like the 1930s and '40s.

One side calls the other fascist and the other calls its opponents communist -- even if there are relatively few true adherents of either system. It is as if Italy's leadership, while working its way through political change, can do no better than affix old labels to make its points.
