PLATYPUS VALLEY, Tasmania -- They drool. They lurch. They smell bad. Nevertheless, they're cute little devils. And hotter than ever, thanks to Warner Bros.' new cartoon series "Taz-mania," starring the rather sweet young Taz (son or spinoff of the old, more familiar Bugs Bunny foil, the Tasmanian Devil).

Neither character is popular with wildlife experts in Tasmania. "The image people have of Tasmanian devils is the spinning, dizzy cartoon character, and it's wrong.
