enough room to print it. This week, Animal Beat takes a look at some
of the latest news stories in which animals take center stage.
Is there a schnauzer in the house?: One of the most unusual
reports comes from Tallahassee, Fla.,where a dermatologist and a
retired police officer from the K-9 unit teamed up to work with a
cancer-sniffing canine.
Dr. Armand Cognetta, a skin cancer specialist who was feeling
frustrated at the occasional misses in detecting melanoma -- the
deadliest skin cancer -- wondered if dogs could be trained,
