BEVERLY HILLS -- "I'm never really totally happy, ever," Michelle
Pfeiffer says. Let's make clear that she's talking about her work.
And talking about the pressures of maintaining her position as one of
Hollywood's few actresses who can open a movie without a male costar,
as she did in "Dangerous Minds," never skipping a beat although
filming continued into her sixth month of pregnancy. Not that she's
without an A-list costar in "Up Close and Personal," opening today.
She plays a TV newscaster opposite Robert Redford as her mentor and
eventual husband. She's not playing the late, tragic Jessica
Savitch, she wants it known. And she never was Jessica Rabbit.
