EAST LANSING, Mich. -- The UMass-Lowell hockey team wants to do it
all -- well, part of it, anyway -- over again.
Lowell takes on Michigan State tonight in the first round of the
NCAA West Regional, looking to duplicate its feat of two years ago
when it knocked off the Spartans, 4-3. The next night, the River
Hawks lost to Minnesota, 2-1, in double overtime.
Minnesota went on to the Final Four; Lowell went home.
This time Lowell (25-9-4) must beat Michigan State (28-12-1) for a
shot at Colorado College, the No. 1 seed in the West, and a berth in
the Final Four next Thursday in Cincinnati. Providence takes on
Minnesota in today's first game, with the winner meeting No. 2 seed
Michigan ...
