Article: To save money, Quebec bids Boston adieu

MONTREAL -- Yielding to fiscal realities at home, Quebec is ruefully lowering its profile abroad, hauling down the fleur-de-lys over most of its diplomatic missions -- including its 27-year-old office in Boston, which will be shuttered April 30.

The closure of 16 of Quebec's 22 foreign delegations is a blow to the province's longtime ambition to be recognized as an entity apart from Canada.
