Good news on the genetic front: Scientists have now isolated the
"werewolf gene," the little string of DNA that causes people to grow
hair all over their bodies. And in a separate breakthrough,
scientists discovered a gene that causes obesity in mice. They are
now working on a way to combine the werewolf and obesity genes to
produce a generation of mice that look like Sebastian Cabot.
I was excited when I read about the "werewolf gene." I've had
difficulty growing hair on my head, and I figured a dose of the gene
might help. I imagined going to a geneticist and hearing, "Mr.
Kornheiser, there's good news and bad news. The good news is, we can
