Article: Brudnoy, feeling healthier, launches AIDS research drive

Looking fit and armed with an encouraging new report on his recovering immune system, radio talk-show host David Brudnoy yesterday launched a drive to raise $10 million for AIDS research at Massachusetts General and Brigham and Women's hospitals.

Two years ago, Brudnoy, whose show airs on WBZ-AM (1030), lay near death at MGH from acquired immune deficiency syndrome.

He had dismissed his worsening symptoms as "the flu," even though he knew he had been infected with the human immunodeficiency virus, which causes AIDS, since at least 1988.
