As Faye Dunaway prepares to star in the national tour of "Master
Class" here Oct. 29 at the Wilbur Theatre, there's one thing she
won't do.
"I daren't see Patti LuPone, because I'm such a mimic," said
Dunaway. "I'm immersing myself in Miss Callas, one of the great
actors and singers of all time. She was like Duse. I'm playing her
not only as a tremendous artist and a complicating, fascinating woman
but as a human being with tremendous conflicts and dichotomies."
"Boston is my favorite city," Dunaway said on the phone from LA
yesterday. "I have a history in Boston. I began my theater
training at Boston University School for the Arts."
