NEW YORK -- There's no crowd here to greet Donnie Wahlberg, only
a small film crew on this stage deep within a cavernous studio
complex in Queens. No one is screaming his name. People walk by the
former member of New Kids on the Block without a second glance.
It's a blessing of anonymity for which he is actually thankful.
Wahlberg is on a different stage now, and hoping to build a
credible acting career with his role as a kidnapper in "Ransom."
Interviewed on the set, he is waiting to film a scene in which his
character, Cubby, shows the conscience that sets him apart from his
partners in crime.
Cubby is someone engulfed in a process he can't control -- which
