NEW YORK -- You first glimpse her out of the corner of your eye.
She's sitting at a table at Jean Lafitte, an intimate East Side
restaurant where diners can order their creme brulee in either
English or French. Wearing a cream-colored jacket and sipping
espresso, she is just finishing lunch with producer-director Ismail
Merchant.
