Article: San Diego should be fair about it

SAN DIEGO -- The weather is too spectacular. The people are too nice. The living is too easy. San Diego might be our best American city.

But if there is a great grid god in the sky, He will let New England win tonight's Patriots-Chargers game. San Diego has New England beat in just about every category of comfort. Why should these tanned, healthy folks get to savor sports victories on top of everything else?

San Diego is Bizarro Boston. It's the opposite of everything we are. It's a West Coast nirvana of perfect climate with courteous citizens. You can actually park your car at the airport. The locals are happy to assist you with directions. They don't dial 911 if the Padres lose a playoff ...
