I could hear the screams in the distance, rising above the boat's
motors. We were about to enter Stingray City.
If you haven't been there, this is the year, the 10th anniversary
of one of the most fun things to do in the Caribbean and on one of
the most pleasant of all the isles in the region -- Grand Cayman.
Stingray City is about stingrays, and the screams are not of
terror but delight. Located in Grand Cayman North Sound just off the
coast, this patch of aquarmarine ocean is a delight for all ages.
And no diving is needed because you can stand on a smooth sandbar.
If you want, though, you can scuba a short distance away at what
Stingray City calls "the world's best 12-foot dive."
