Lawmakers Push White Oak as FDA Site

Last month, one arm of the federal government told the Food and Drug Administration that it could not build its new headquarters in far northern Montgomery County because the site was too expensive and too remote.

And last week, another arm of the federal government ordered the Navy to vacate 733 acres of mostly open land at White Oak, a mile from the Capital Beltway.

So the letter that four members of Maryland's congressional delegation sent Friday carried with it a certain air of inevitability.
