Whether the Toronto Blue Jays are a World Series team or a last-
place club, SkyDome is a house of horrors for the Baltimore Orioles.
Tonight, the Orioles wasted a good comeback by losing to the Blue
Jays, 6-5, on Alex Gonzalez's ninth-inning RBI single before 38,416.
Since the building opened in 1989, the Orioles have played 37
games at SkyDome. They've lost 22 of them -- with 11 being secured in
the Blue Jays' final at-bat. That was perfectly understandable when
Toronto was en route to winning back-to-back World Series crowns in
1992 and '93. It's tougher to take now, when the Blue Jays (23-34)
are the American League East's cellar dwellers.
