The new chief of Fidelity Investments mutual funds business has
surrounded himself with three freshly promoted investment pros,
including boss's daughter Abigail Johnson.
Less than two weeks into the job, Robert Pozen yesterday named
Johnson, 35, Robert A. Lawrence, 44, and Richard Spillane, 46, as
senior vice presidents of the Boston company's equity division.
Pozen, president of Fidelity Management & Research, called them "my
core management team."
Pozen, who had been Fidelity's top lawyer for a decade, said the
trio is needed to provide more support for managers of Fidelity's
220-plus funds. They also shore up a line of senior management
