Article: Blue Cross to detail reorganization plan

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts tomorrow will present its revised plan to reorganize into three separate companies, a move that will affect the underpinnings of the state's largest health insurer.

The proposal, which will be presented in a public hearing before state Insurance Commissioner Linda Ruthardt, calls for Blue Cross to divide into a tax-exempt managed care company, an administrative services company, and an indemnity insurance company.
