The Baltimore Orioles continued to torment their former manager,
Johnny Oates. The Orioles spoiled Oates's return to Baltimore and
extended the losing streak of his current team, the Texas Rangers, to
nine games by coming from behind for a 4-3 triumph tonight before
40,961 at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
Oates went mostly unnoticed by the crowd in his first game at
Camden Yards since he was fired by the Orioles last fall. But the
Orioles (40-40), who won for the 18th time in 27 games and reached
the .500 mark for the second time this season, made it a rugged night
for him, finally winning on Bret Barberie's popup that landed among
several Rangers in short left-center field with two outs and ...
