We moved in the fall, and I am in a new junior high. I had
friends when we lived in Georgia, but I feel shy here. The kids say
I talk funny. Are kids in New England stuck up?

Kids are basically the same everywhere. One problem, though
-- they are often insecure in junior high because they are growing up
and changing so fast. Some young teenagers say they don't know who
they are anymore. Be observant about how they talk and act. What
music do they listen to? What do they wear? What activities
interest them? When you find things you have in common, talk about
those.
Talk to your teacher. Ask if anything about you turns kids
off. Also ask about programs you can take ...
