Paula Jones, the president's accuser, is making headlines this
weekend over charges of sexual harassment. But it is Beth Ann
Faragher who stands to make history.
By the end of its term, the US Supreme Court will decide if
Faragher, a former part-time lifeguard in Boca Raton, Fla., had a
case when she sued the city in 1992 for failing to police the
obscene talk and obnoxious touching by male supervisors who made
her job, and her life, no day at the beach.
The complaint, which some lawyers call the "Baywatch" case, may
sound minor, but it promises to be a landmark. Through it, the
