Article: Clinton May Assert Executive Privilege; White House Considers Retaining Documents on Travel Office Firings

The White House has informed a congressional committee that President Clinton may claim executive privilege and refuse to turn over some or all of 907 pages of documents relating to the travel office firings that occurred in the administration's first months in office.

It is the latest chapter of a controversy that has plagued the Clinton administration since May of 1993, when seven longtime employees of the White House travel office were abruptly fired and accused of inept and dishonest operations.
