FOXBOROUGH -- Olympia Dukakis is not the first woman to play King
or Queen Lear and she's not the first Lear to be upstaged by the
Fool. Shakespeare & Company's exploration into gender bending is
unique on one other front, though. It's the first time I rooted for
Regan and Goneril against Lear and Cordelia.
"The Lear Project" is not the easily dismissible ...
