It's a race between two little-known politicians for an low-
visibility seat in a year when even the most sizzling electoral
fights are barely registering in the minds of voters.
Few contests would seem to have as little hope of claiming the
public's imagination as the one for Governor's Council in the 3d
District. But with little more than a week to go, the race between
Watertown Democrat Marilyn Petitto Devaney and Newton Republican John
de Jong has begun to claim a modest amount of attention.
Devaney and de Jong are competing for the seat of Newton Democrat
