NEW RELEASES: "Godzilla" -- The lead-footed remake of the cheesy
Japanese original features superior technology and little else.
Humorless and dull. The performances are as mechanical as the
monster. The only redeeming quality is that the failure of
"Godzilla" to generate profits on the big screen temporarily might
slow down Hollywood's rush to remake high-tech trash.
"Wild Man Blues" -- I always thought Woody Allen, in spite of his
so-called personal life choices, was a pretty smart guy. But, after
watching Barbara Kopple's nonfiction account of Allen's jazz band's
European tour, you start to wonder. While Allen the film director is
