Article: Medex Gold enrollment halt sought Blue Cross fears stampede of seniors over drug benefit

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts said it wants the Legislature to shut off enrollment for one year to its Medex Gold supplemental insurance for seniors who are currently on Medicare.

Advocates for the elderly said the plan to close Medex Gold was "unacceptable" because it would cut off the only option Massachusetts seniors will have for unlimited drug coverage.
