A well-known criminalist testified in the O.J. Simpson double
murder trial today that he discovered mystery imprints at the crime
scene that were overlooked by police and that do not match shoes worn
by the celebrity defendant or the victims.
Henry Lee, chief criminalist of the state of Connecticut,
testified for the defense that 13 days after the June 12, 1994,
murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ronald L. Goldman, he
detected faint sole imprint patterns of a "parallel line design" on a
walkway where the bodies were found.
Lee told the jury that when he later examined enlarged photographs
of the crime scene, he found similar imprints on an envelope and on a
