Article: City Councilor McCullough enters race against Stanley

The opening gun has sounded in the race for mayor in Waltham with Rebecca H. McCullough's announcement last week that she plans to take on Mayor William H. Stanley.

McCullough, who is in her third term as Ward 7 City Councilor, was scheduled to declare her candidacy for mayor at kick-off event at the Windham Garden Hotel last Friday.

McCullough becomes the first official entrant in the mayor's race. Stanley has said he plans to seek reelection, but hasn't made a formal announcement of it.
