Red Sox management maintains that Fenway Park must be replaced
with a new stadium because it is not economically feasible to expand
the present stadium. Such unsupported generalizations by the Red Sox
in their own self-interest cannot be the basis for the destruction of
a national treasure and a beloved Boston landmark.
Boston has an opportunity to do something marvelous and unique.
The mayor's Boston 2000 process has been seeking an emblem for the
city for the next century.
A renovated, state-of-the-art Fenway Park can be the Boston icon
we're looking for. We can and should do better than Baltimore and
Cleveland, which built their new ...
