There may still be life in 87-year-old Fenway Park. Before
Bostonians bury America's oldest Major League ballpark, they should
insist that the owners of the Boston Red Sox respond, in detail, to
proposals to expand and renovate the stadium on its current site.
Tomorrow night the grass-roots group Save Fenway Park will unveil
an architectural plan that, organizers say, will address the fans'
yearning for greater comfort, the owners' need for greater revenue,
and nearby residents' desire for neighborhood stability. The plan,
by architect Charles Hagenah, could increase the seating capacity
from the current 33,000 to 44,000. Dan Wilson, a researcher for Save
