NONFICTIONPeople Have More Fun Than Anybody: A Centennial
Celebration of Drawings and Writings by James Thurber, edited by
Michael J. Rosen (Harvest, $15). The rather elongated subtitle of
this book concludes "Being a collection of a hundred or so never
before collected drawings and writings, a veritable kennel of good
dogs, celebrity guests, a thousand or more laughs, several poignant
revelations, and Thurber's favorite birthday cake." Which just about
sums it up. The editor, Michael J. Rosen, literary director of the
Thurber House in Columbus, Ohio, has gone through back issues of
magazines and newspapers from the '20s to the '50s, in search of
hitherto uncollected Thurberiana. ...
