Article: BERNARD R. WALSH, 59 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

Bernard R. Walsh, principal of the Stratton Elementary School in Arlington, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Boston. He was 59.

Born in Brighton, he attended Malden Catholic High School.

He then graduated from Boston State Teachers College in 1961 and received his bachelor's degree.

He taught in several school districts, including Hull and Boston, and at the Hardy Elementary School in Arlington in 1965.

Upon receiving his master's degree in education in 1967 from Northeastern, he became principal of the Hardy School. In 1975, he became principal of the Stratton Elementary School.
