Think of it as ballroom dancing's answer to "Riverdance." If you
haven't yet come across "Burn the Floor," you soon will. The dance
spectacle that has been electrifying audiences in sold-out
engagements in Europe and Australia is about to hit the United States
starting in March, including a stop at the Wang Theatre April 13-16.
Indications are that the tour will probably make as big a splash here
as it has on the other two continents.
In the meantime, PBS's "Great Performances" is offering American
audiences their first view of the phenomenon via the film version of
"Burn the Floor," premiering Sunday night on WGBH-TV (Channel 2).
"Burn the Floor" is not ballroom dance as we usually think ...
