Early in her freshman year at Bowie High, Eli Mould sought out her
volleyball coach for advice. Fatigued from spending a month on both
the varsity volleyball and soccer teams, Mould needed someone who
understood how much she enjoyed both sports -- and who would
understand that she could only play one.
This person was her mother, who said Mould had more of a future in
volleyball.
Of course, this may not have been the most objective opinion
because Nancy Mould has been Bowie's volleyball coach since 1990.
"I realized she was right," said Eli Mould, now a 5-foot-10 senior
outside hitter for the Bulldogs, who are 9-1 and ranked sixth in the
