Article: WEBER UNIT ACQUIRES WASHINGTON LOBBYING FIRM

A unit of Cambridge-based Weber Public Relations Worldwide said yesterday it has acquired a lobbying firm headed by Haley Barbour, former chairman of the Republican National Committee.

Weber has made a slew of acquisitions since it was bought by the Interpublic Group of Cos. of New York three years ago. But Washington- based Barbour Griffith & Rogers will be the first lobbying firm in its portfolio, chairman Larry Weber said.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Barbour Griffith & Rogers projects 1999 revenues of $8 million, Weber said.
