OK, they've made it. Now what?
The true believers at Fast Company magazine have had a boffo year:
a National Magazine Award for General Excellence, a circulation rate
base of 500,000 for the new year, and a healthy profit after a mere
four years in print. More important, they have created a brand name
to die for and, hype aside, altered the vector of business
journalism.
Quite simply, they are riding the hottest American business
publication of the late '90s. And they know it.
"This is our moment," said cofounder William Taylor, 40, who
worships at the altar of Bruce Springsteen when he is not editing
copy in Fast Company's offices near the North End. "We have arrived.
